Drum Instructor Sherman Ferguson (1944-2006) passed away the weekend of January 21st, 2006. He was an original staff member at the LA Music Academy and will be sorely missed. In addition to playing with a Who's Who of jazz from the likes of Kenny Burrell to Stan Kenton, his drumming style and his good-natured manner inspired many of the students over the years. A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 29th, at Catalina's Bar and Grill in Hollywood from 1-4 PM.
