LA Music Academy and M-Audio Continue Great Internship Opportunity!

M-Audio Logo M-Audio will be continuing its internship program for LA Music Academy students in 2008! If you are interested in applying, read below for all of the particulars!

You've probably heard of M-Audio: they make among the world’s most widely used recording equipment and are a partner company to Digidesign, which makes the very famous ProTools ™ recording systems. They are also a division of the AVID technology group, which makes world-class video production products. Amazingly, M-audio is located not far away, in Irwindale. They've grown dramatically in the last few years, as recording has become more and more a part of life for all types of musicians. M-Audio is always looking for great people who want to learn more about the recording gear industry. They are very organized in the way they train their employees, and one of the reasons they wanted to offer their opportunities to us is that they value the musician's perspective in using recording gear. So, if you're interested and active in the recording of your own (or anybody else's) music and want to earn supplemental income working for a top tier company in the music space, here's your chance.

The work opportunities are available to LA Music Academy students and alumni. If you are a current student, you’ll be applying for an "internship." If you are a grad, you would be applying for the “internship / independent contractor” position; a similar opportunity, although it is technically not an internship. You must be clear about your status (current student/alum) up front.

You can create your own profile and submit an application online at www.m-audio.com. Your profile and application will then be reviewed by the appropriate personnel for M-Audio. Compensation will be provided based on experience and internship level.

This position can also lead to other contractual part-time or full time employment.

In this position, you'd be:

  • assisting M-Audio's customer base helping to field calls with their technical support questions
  • monitoring forum discussions
  • creating incident data entries
  • creating music
  • having fun doing all of the above

Basically, you would have the opportunity to train on, learn and put to use a multitude of innovative and cutting edge M-Audio hardware and software products used for multi-track recording, audio production and sound design. Experience and skill requirements are as follows:

  • 0-1 year's technical experience
  • proven effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • knowledge of Mac/PC hardware and software
  • experience with multiple-related DAW software and hardware
  • experience with Engineering, FOH, project and professional studio environments
