Faculty/Academy Referrals
Because the instructors at the LA Music Academy are among the top pro musicians, they often receive gig offers they cannot accept. They have been known to pass these opportunities on to conscientious and qualified students or graduates from the Academy. The Academy also receives numerous calls from organizations searching for bands/band members and passes these opportunities on to select students/graduates. Musicians Contact
Work can be difficult to find in the music industry. To help alleviate this challenge, every
LA Music Academy graduate is offered a discounted membership to Musicians Contact. MusiciansContact.com is
the premier job referral service, established in 1969. Their service allows you to view job listings for
your instrument which change daily, as well as fill out an online information profile so band leaders and
employers can contact you directly. Click on the link below to learn how to receive your discount: Career Counseling
Wondering how to start your musical endeavors after graduation? Need insight into how to stay on course as a career unfolds? Because the LA Music Academy's faculty is packed with professional musicians with gobs of career experience, we can find the right person for you to talk to about your musical queries whenever you need advice. Bulletin Board
Located outside of the library on the LA Music Academy Campus, the Bulletin Board serves as a great place to find announcements for gigs, job opportunities, and upcoming events. This source is a great opportunity for students to check for gigs/employment while on campus, and graduates are always welcome to drop by the school to check the bulletin board. Bands and agencies searching for musicians frequently send us announcements to post. If you are looking for a musician for a gig or band, please click here. Library Resources
In addition to many audio and video selections in the library, students can also find different books that serve as guides to the music business (i.e. The A&R Registry). These books cover topics ranging from how to get gigs to starting your own band as a business to explaining how record companies work. Exploring these resources will enable upcoming musicians to develop and utilize business skills to maximize the success of their musical endeavors. |
